Just lovely ... I really miss my grandfather's barn back in Georgia. I wrote a column, "There's Just Something About A Barn," a few months back, and there is.
I too am a lover of old barns. I have taken many of them from a number of towns ( their countryside) over my 84 years. I lived in Virginia for many years and saw so many when driving through the Shenandoah valley as we did in our travels of 45 of our lovely states.
I've always speculated about the favored use of red paint on barns. Guessing it has to do with the most common pigment available, red ocher. Or is there some symbolism?
there is something spiritually satisfying about an old barn
Just love your post thank you for sharing
The first photo is my favorite --- though they are all lovely.

I agree, Tom. I have been singing love songs to barns on Southern Voice since 2013. They are truly soul-satisfying:-)
Absolutley! And I must agree, the one with the old blue truck says it all. Love it! Keep shooting; keep writing!
I love all barns. I was raised in dairy country and have many fond memories of spending time in a barn.
