I remember a bonafide snow fall in about 1960 when I was growing up in Raleigh —there was enough snow to make a snowman. Talking about emergency milk and bread runs, my favorite memory is a story that my oldest daughter still talks about. Seems there was a harassed Mother in the Winn Dixie shouting to her daughter across the store so she wouldn’t lose her place in line: “Honey, did you get everything we need?” The confident shouted reply from the young pre-teen was “Yeah Mama! I got the Pepsi!” 😁
Yes!!! I love how we can in the South stop the world for a snowstorm. The Yankees don’t want us to try to drive it anyway. They should be thankful we hunker down and stay off the roads! 😆
