I take the "back way" from Savannah to Charlotte on 321 and have been through Estill, SC but I have never stopped for fried chicken. I recognize the filling station.
Next trip.
Next time in Savannah, stop at Sandfly BBQ. First rate. Beans are perfect.
That’s why I mentioned it. I haven’t eaten there in a few years, since I don’t get down there very often any more. I hope it’s still in operation. It’s right there on N. Congress St.
I love traveling back roads and forgotten byways for precisely this reason. I will add hours more to a trip if I can avoid the abominations known as interstate highways.
You speak the truth . We travel through Estill on our way to Augusta, and we always stop there. My hubby loves the chicken and mac n cheese. Amazing food, and the nicest folks!

Yep - right on 321 in Estill. You will thank me:-)))
Winnsboro has Boone’s Barn Express. Quicky mart in the front. Delicious fried chicken, etc, in the back. Seriously decadent.
Good to know, Annie! As you know, I come through Winnsboro all the time.
