What treasures! I have my great grandmother’s hand written receipt book, so I understand your feelings about these “peepholes” into the past. And by the way, my mother made stickies too.

Caramel cake is my birthday cake. Each of us in the family got their favorite cake. My mother and sister chose coconut and my dad wanted a 6 later yellow with dark chocolate frosting. When I turned 80 two and a half years ago I asked for a caramel frosting cake. My middle son and oldest granddaughter made it for me. I’ll. Treasure that. I gave them a book if my life from questions they asked about and much more. I’m looking forward to you cake recipe. I also have my grandmothers cookbook that I made millions of cookies from the recipes in it. The page with chocolate chip cookie recipe has batter still clumped on ly from the beater splatter! Sweet memories!! Lynda Little Crabill

I LOVE this collection! You are so fortunate! And the fact that they are from your grandmother makes it especially special! They would look great in frame on the kitchen wall and it would help preserve them.

When we are young, we toss things we don’t realize we would treasure later. I canned my grandmother’s bread and butter pickles until my late 20’s when I decided with 2 babies I had no time to can. And I threw the recipe she’d written out. So sorry now!
