Speaking as one who has never met a french fried potato that she did not like, allow me to take this opportunity to inform you all that I may have just discovered the deep-fried Holy Grail.
I’m on the road for a few days, rambling around Georgia, and had the great (better late than never) pleasure of dining with my niece and her husband, Katy and Carson Young, at one of their restaurants in Atlanta.
The Yumbii franchise began when Carson decided that Atlanta needed a few food trucks, and this back in a day when food trucks were scarcely a thing. His pioneering efforts paid off, as the trucks are still rolling, but in addition to those, there are now three Yumbii brick-and-mortar locations in the city.
Their tacos are legendary and award-winning, but I’m here to testify about these fries. Yumbii’s World Famous Sesame Fries are the best fries I have ever encountered, and my resume is thick with french-fry-encounters from Boston to LA and all points in between, so I do not speak of this lightly. These fries are that good.
If you are in Atlanta, passing through, or contemplating a trip, make a stop at Yumbii part of your itinerary. Your entire world view of french fries will forever be changed. And when you go in, be sure to tell them Aunt Beth says hey.
Yum! I have to stay away from fries as part of my diet but they look marvelous. If you are ever in Nashville, TN, try the truffle fries at Cledis Burgers & Beer Garden. They are life-changing!
