Believe it or not, Duval Street in Key West, Florida is actually a paved surface. I say that with tongue in cheek because most people never have opportunity to see the place unattended by ten thousand revelers, almost as many bicyclists, assorted dogs in sunglasses, Conch Trains, roosters, motor scooters, and pink taxi cabs.
There is, however, a tiny window of time, just before the sun comes up and the beer delivery trucks arrive, when Key West's main street sings a quietly beautiful song and provides the lucky observer with a clear view from sea to shining sea.
And that is by NO means tongue in cheek, because the lovely golden glow you see in the far distance (14 blocks up, to be exact) is the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean, while one block behind me is the Gulf.
Have a great day, y'all. Spring, at long last, is here.
