If you have noticed my recent “Amazon Finds” posts and are wondering what’s up, here’s the story. Long before I began roaming the South and telling stories, I built a successful career in the gift and home decor industry. Across more than three decades as a product designer and licensed artist to the trade, I developed a fairly decent knack for trend shopping and a nose for good design. It occurred to me not long ago that some of you might enjoy the benefits of my odd talent, so I decided to start surfing Amazon and passing my finds along to you.
If this is not your bag, no worries. I will begin the title of each of these posts with the words “Amazon Finds” by way of a heads-up. That will alert you that it’s a “shopping” post, and you won’t even need to open the message. Just scroll past and get on with your day. But for those of you who are like me and love beautiful things at reasonable prices, my goal is to save you the time, the trouble, and some money.
For my time and trouble spent doing this, Amazon will pay me a small commission for every order that results. I won’t get rich, but it all adds up, and in the meantime we can all win. You discover treasures, and the gas gauge in my car stays more toward the full side.
There will be a couple of shopping posts each week, mixed in with my regular content - which will not suffer in the process. For instance, tomorrow’s post on a grand old abandoned house getting a new makeover will be followed by a shopping post about finds for your beach house (or the one in Indiana that helps you pretend you’re by the sea), so stay tuned - and thanks for your support.
(By the way - the lamp at the beginning of this post is one of my finds. Just click the photo if you’re interested.)
